2024: A Review of the Past Year

Here we go...

Hey. Welcome to my first blog post. We shall see if this sticks, or if it'll fizzle out like most things for me. It's currently January 10th, 2025, and I'm sitting on my friends' couch while they're either asleep or at work. It's snowing outside! Like, not just flurries but full flakes, and it's on the ground!

Okay, let me talk about my year now. It was kind of a shit show, but on the other hand, It wasn't all shit. 2024 gave me some of the best people, memories, and things I've ever had. I always say that I wouldn't appreciate the things I have without the shit days. On September 7th, 2024, I wrote, "I think I had to go through an especially tough time to really appreciate what I had and what I would be blessed to receive."

Despite getting in an accident that left me with a totalled car and a screwed up spine, a rental house that was vandelized (delaying my move I had been trying to make for a year), and a few other unfortunate events, I wouldn't change a thing. Well maybe that's not true, but you know.

This year I went on a trip to Costa Rica with some of my best friends and made some memories I'll never forget. I moved back to Nashville, and I'm always writing and surrounded by music and the most amazing people. I spent many days by the water, which is all I want to do in the summers. I started Sew Willa, and I sold many sweaters online and at markets. And I made my first merch line with Perfect Friend. I went to North Carolina and got to appreciate it's beauty before so much of it was tragically destroyed. And then I finally visited Susanna in Kansas City. I understand the hype now.

Through this year, I met some new friends, I grew closer with older friends and family, and I grew apart from others. As is life.

Thank you 2024 for the people you've put in my life, kept in my life, and even removed from my life. Every person and every experience is a lesson to learn from. Bring it on 2025, but please be sweet to me.
